Tiramisu Brownies

Hello you wonderful people!! I am SO sorry for the lack of posts in the last week, I cannot express how much this distance was completely and utterly against my will! Two exams down, three more to go boooo :( I am SO ready for them to be over. I have been cramming like a mad woman because Donut Week consumed an awful lot of my revision time, but I have given myself time off after a day of procrastinating (no, in all seriousness I made some flash cards on fungi as pathogens haha go me!).
I found a little bit of time on Wednesday evening after my exam to bake these bad boys...

Tiramisu Brownies by Jamie who runs from one of my favourite blogs (dare I say it... my favourite baking blog) - My Baking Addiction.

They came up on my daily email from bloglovin' about 5 minutes after she posted them and oh my gosh I cannot tell you how excited I was. Tiramisu is the only coffee flavoured food I like, don't get me wrong I love my fancy coffee shop coffees, especially gingerbread lattes, but coffee flavoured food I can totally live without. Tiramisu, however, I most definitely cannot live without. Brownies.. no no no I cannot imagine a life without brownies, so combine the two and ohh crikey I have a dessert match made in heaven. I put them straight at the top of my 'to bake' list and here I am with 24 10 tiramisu brownies left!

There is no point in me posting the recipe here as I followed it to the letter - well very very nearly, I used instant coffee because - WOW - the price of anything but instant for a student is economically unachievable, so my tiramisu brownies weren't as strong as they should have been so next time I may have to make a sneaky detour into the overdraft for proper coffee. (I am kidding I have not been to the forbidden place even once, I am actually very sensible with my money believe it or not!). The recipe also said to marble the mascarpone mixture with the reserved cup of brownie batter on the top, I tried... and failed... so I spread the brownie batter on top of the mascarpone layer for ease!

I kid you not, this may be the best brownie I am yet to guzzle down.

I photographed the process (with Hannah's iPhone, I am still camera-less :( ) so here is a rundown-by-photos of what to do!

Serve, share, eat, ENJOY :)
And thank you so much My Baking Addiction for such a yummy yummy post oh my, what a good idea, now I can take tiramisu to uni for lunch in a portable brownie form! Win win I think! :)
